for Your Tropical Paradise

Location: Avoid draughts, temperature between 20-23 °C. Light location, if possible only morning or afternoon sunlight, do not stand in direct midday sunlight!

Watering: 1-2 times a week, if required; control soil humidity. Water from above. During hot weather and dry air, spray the plant once in the mornings. The orchid must never be allowed to sit in water - best to use a special pot from Scheurich. This means the orchid is elevated and the water can flow away. Orchids do not need pots with holes in the side as this restricts growth.

Fertilising: During the growth period, from March to October, the orchid should receive liquid orchid-fertiliser once a fortnight (Observe mixing ratio).

Location: Temperature between 18-22 °C. Light location, but not in direct sunlight! High humidity.

Watering: Requires a humid environment. There should always be water in the pot. Remove from water only during winter and when the flowers are in bloom. Spray frequently.

Fertilising: During the growth period add liquid fertiliser to the water in the pot every fortnight.

Location: Temperature between 18-25 °C. Dark, shaded location. High humidity.

Watering: The root balls of almost every fern should be evenly moist. Avoid stagnant moisture.

Fertilising: Between early spring and autumn green plants should receive liquid fertiliser every fortnight - half the recommended amount is sufficient for ferns that are sensitive to salt.

Watering: Should be watered moderately. Allow the topsoil to dry-out slightly before watering the ficus benjamini. Excess moisture in the soil will cause the plant to lose it's leaves.

Fertilising: The ficus benjamini should receive a dose of liquid compound fertiliser about once a fortnight.
